They're incredibly reliable, in a never-leave-you-stranded start-everyday way. That said, the 4.0 is notorious for cracked headers, although there are aftermarkets that hold up better than the Chrysler OEM. If you ever do, by chance, have a problem, they're easy to find parts for, especially new, because there's so many on the road. I would put it against darn-near anything for longevity.
Maybe my post the other day was a prime example of how painkillers affect post clarity, haha.

I think 99's have the hated 0331 heads, I think, unless they started putting them in a little later. Somebody else know for sure?

xjs are kickass, but if you think the gas mileage on your tacoma is bad its not going to be better in an xj, especially if you put 32's or 33's on. Im a stick shift guy but I bought an automatic xj cuz its my winter beater and they have better gearing for oversized tires. I bought a 98 xj with 150k and its very reliable.

Just get one my friend. As long as it says "Jeep" - you'll find out why we all love them whether Its a 1990 or 2000.

What??? ZJ is the sexiest looking SUV. Stick to your yota's kid.

You got a nice looking truck though, seems to fit you more than a jeep. JK!! Welcome!!
