Hi everyone, new to this forum and jeeps... Thought I better introduce myself. I'm from the Portland Oregon area and just bought a 88 Cherokee. I've wanted a jeep forever, but never found a good balance of driver/project until now.
I'm good with my tools, and have done MAJOR rebuilds and full restorations by myself... But I don't know a whole lot about newer (80's and newer) 4wd systems.
I'm sure you will all be friendly and helpful... I will attempt to do the same.

I've only been here for 1... Or is it 2 days... I've already learned sooooooo much about my truck and learned that this MUST BE the friendliest forum I've ever been on.

Well, I've had my XJ for 5 days. I've spent exactly $6.89 on actual repairs... It now runs, drives, stops, steers, and looks 10x better. It has come so far. I don't count the $90 I spent on a tune up, oil change, or other regular maintenance. That is standard operating expense like fuel.
I spent $700 for it, and now wouldn't sell it for $2000.... Now to fix all the stuff that dosen't need fixing.
I kinda want another one already though... Would be so much fun to have a lifted toy and a DD.
