Default New from Chicago!

Hey everyone. I am a current Jeep owner of a 2003 Jeep Liberty with a 4 inch lift...but I want a dedicated trail vehicle/project toy...what ever. I just want to have fun with another Jeep and I always loved the Cherokee. I figured that If I dont drop $1200 on a ARB on my Liberty, I can find an XJ pretty cheap. So if anyone wants to give me good buying advice on a XJ; what would be the years to look for, what problems to avoid and what problems are east to solve/fix, what years are best for modding, etc.

Well, once again, I will most likely purchase my XJ by the end of summer, but I will be lurking a lot and looking for information and also asking quite a few questions here to find out if I found the right XJ

And, here is the Liberty/ future tow vehicle (its been to MOAB (1), Badlands (1) and the Cliffs multiple times)

i'm on there, I'm more of a frequent visitor on LOST for the Liberty, but once I get this XJ later on, DDO will be the XJs club

I'll most likely talk to Matt about the XJ and such

I'm trying to look for a 95-97 ish...auto would be the way for me tho. I can care less on the miles because it will be trail only. and they run for a long time (250k)

CL has a few for 1200...but I will low ball them for every imperfection

yea there is a nice one in WI, but I have to wait till mid summer for a deal, they come and go so I am in no rush

The gf is willing to help pay since she blew my rear diff on the KJ and I had to get a new set of gears (4.10) and a ARB locker for it so she knew why $1500 went down the drain after the cliffs
