Default Project Chicago

Yea well the title is because i'm from chicago. My jeep is from chicago so this is going to suck.

I got a 97 xj yesterday. 111k miles stock as *****. No body rust, but the underbody is kind of rusted, and i can see it is probably going to be a lttle bit of a pain.

I am new into the jeep world. I have ridden quads my whole life.

My buddy is going to school to become a mechanic, and I am smart enough to figure things out, at least by instruction. My question is for you smart guys out there.

What kind of lift should I go with, money isnt a huge issue, but im looking for a 4.5 inch lift, that is solid on the hwy at least up to 65mph

I am thinking about 31-32s I am custom fabbing some steel welded from and back bumpers soon, so i am thinking those should be between 75-125lbs a piece, and then another what 50-100lbs for the winch?

I hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks. I will have some pictures after I clean her up and do the tune up and rust detail.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hey man I would go with the 4.5 or 5.5 rubicon express kit. Do a slip yoke eliminator kit it, some 33 inch tires with a little trimming and it will look awesome and ride great. Hope this helped and good luck with your build.

Dude you're from Oak Lawn? I was born at Christ hospital and spent the first four years of my life in Orland Hills. Can't wait to see some pics!

Yea, well I am technically from bridgeview, but Oaklawn is a bigger town. I work in orland hills, at the mall, as well as worth PD.

Yea I am for sure doing a 4.5, I was just doing research and stuff. Alot of the sites they show you the kit, all the parts, but then they have recommendations, so I didnt know if those were necessary..

Would I just grab a 4.5 spring kit, and throw one of http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...egory_Code=SYE these things on it? I know it sounds like I know crap about cars, but when it comes down to getting it done, itll be done right..
