How's the Jeep looking these days after all the drama of acquiring it?

Been sitting in my garage with the drivetrain completely removed for the last 8 months. Motor needs complete rebuild or replace. Trans may too.

I was honestly shocked that it ran when I got the motor all apart. Wasn't one bearing that didn't have severe scoring. Crank is trashed, cam is trashed, lifters are trashed. Motor is trashed...

I haven't given up though. I want my Jeep and my garage back.

Well, that sucks. Is picking up a used drive line out of the question?

Not at all. Hunting CL for one. Everything seems to be real new with close to 200k on the clock. Anything older is non op. Wonder if I pick up a 4.0 from a 97 something if it can be made to work.

Shouldn't be too hard.
