Default Joining the XJ crowd

Hello everyone. The kids are growing up fast and I decided I needed to find a larger vehicle for everyday use. Well......I'm making the transition from a CJ7 as my daily driver for the last 10 years into a 2000 Cherokee Sport.........and I'm loving it.

I picked this up last week for a great price after searching for a clean and affordable XJ for a while.

Here was my daily driven CJ as I picked it up 11 years ago:

and after an intense summer rebuild 10 years ago:

This looks like a great place to hang out and I look forward to interacting with you all. I'm sure I'll have some questions along the way so thanks in advance.

Thanks. It was a labor of love. I replaced the frame and obviously the body, fenders and windshield frame as well. I don't want to take on a challenge like that again for awhile, not enough time in the day anymore.

Thank you. The previous owner did a great job at keeping it waxed and spotless. I did notice some tiny rust spots forming but those will be addressed in the summer.

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Plans for the Cherokee are minimal right now. It has a 2" BB already with 30" BFG AT's which is fine with me. I am working out some of the "bugs" right now. Things like nonworking rear windows, speaker not working, a leaky radiator and a few other items. (new 3 core radiator from The Radiator Barn should be here Monday )

This will be my daily driver so I have no major plans as of now other than general maintenance and repair. Compared to the CJ7 it is replacing this is like driving a Cadillac. It's a world of difference and the kids love it too. I think I made the right decision to pick up the Cherokee.
