Default Its mine now, but it will always be Papaws Jeep!

My Papaw, proud WWII veteran, passed away 2 weeks ago at 98. I now own his 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. It only has 84K miles on it and is entirely stock. He bought it on Jan 5, 1991. He loved his little red Jeep. Its rarely been driven the past 5 years. I know there is a lot of potential for this Jeep since it has been kept stock, but I want to keep it that way. I want to maintain the appearance so it will look the way it was when I would see my Papaw driving it. There are a few minor electrical issues I need to sort out. Other than that just some maintenance thats been taken care off already(all fluids, filters, plugs/wires, etc and a leaking rear main seal). Since I don't know anything about Jeeps I look forward to learning more about them and keep this Jeep rolling for many years.

I would keep it original as well I have a few guns that are hand me downs from grandparents and I cant do any modifying to them because of sentiment so I shoot them and enjoy them the way my grandparents did. treasure it !!

Welcome to forum and sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I too would keep it stock. Even with upgraded stock components and All/Terrain Tires a Stock Cherokee is VERY VERY good at doing small adventure trails etc. If thats your sort of thing.

Welcome - and also sorry to hear about your grandpa.

98 is quite a number though - the amount of change in the world he has seen would have been really cool to talk about. He must have been a cool dude if he owned an XJ
