I've only had my XJ for 2 years. I bought my MB in 1985.

Just more proud battle scars - probably going to trick it out a bit.
Will be checking forums for parts leads.

Gonna be 62 next week - gotta live & have fun!

Appreciate again all the positive feedback!
Cheers!
IIRC, that's a 2Dr isn't it?

I have had my XJ for several years now. Done a ton of work to it. It is my daily, and heavily modded. I will drive it until it isn't road-worthy anymore. Then, I'll drive it some more as an off-road only rig...

The only way it will go down, is it will die, or I will die.

This... all day long man. I've never had such a strong "bond" with a vehicle. Been through some ****ty times with it, been through a ton of awesome times with it. I love working on it, I hate working on it. But it's always there for me. Might not always run or drive perfect or do things exactly the way I want them done... but it still does 'em.

After I got my first real job out of college I bought a brand new '96. Six years later I needed a pickup and my dad who spent half the year near me and the other in AZ needed a vehicle while in town... I gave him my XJ. Two months ago when it started having issues and became to unreliable for an 82yo to be driving it he reluctantly gave it back to me. I say reluctantly because he likes it as much as I do. He's driving a shiny new Nissan suv and I got the XJ back. It has it's issues that we are working through but nearly looks as good as the day I bought it. Never wrecked... hardly ever spent a night out of a garage. Some rust underneath but not bad. Engine runs great. My plan was to let my girls use it but honestly after playing around with it i'm not sure I want a teenager cracking her up.

My parents bought our 1991 jeep xj when it was 4 years old in 1995. I rode in it from when I was in a car seat, through my first date with my dad toting us around, getting Christmas trees in the mountains...etc. Turned 16 and my dad gave me the keys with maybe 200k on the clock. Today it's my still my daily driver and it's pushing 360k on the original engine and transmission. It took my (now) wife and I on our first date, and it will rot in my driveway before I let the name on that title change hands.

lol... right as I snapped to that post, our radio manager walked by and saw the meme and was like "what is that?" Try explaining memeology to a spoc-like techno-genius with a very dry sense of humor.... you should have seen me
