My parents bought a brand new 1990 XJ, I was driven to preschool in it. When my older sister got her license, it went to her, then I got my license so it went to me. I loved it, that XJ is the reason I love Jeep. Well, a few years of ownership and I handed it down to my then girlfriend's little sister... BIG mistake. Not even a year later she let the engine go dry (I warned her to check oil frequently) and that was the end of that... Very sad and regretted giving her that car. Then I got Ruby and I will own her until I die, and even then, they better dig a BIG hole because i will buried sitting in the driver seat!

I bought my '99 new with 2 miles on it, one of which was mine during the test drive. I just passed inspection today with 299,535 mi on it (engine stock except for timing chain). I have fixed every single thing- body work, sheet metal, painting, gen maintenance and even making frame rails from when it got rear-ended and was totaled. I have no plans on getting rid of it ever!

first was a 92 Laredo, sold with 220k miles transfer case shot. next 2000 with 160k on it, sold when electrical problems got overwhelming. next up 2000 166k miles some body rot lots of dings should have kept but no room. now proud new owner of 1999 limited 120k miles. bought down south, no rust. oil under coat every year. looks like motor has blown for a few weeks after undercoat while oil leaks from every joint. hoping to keep this one for ever.
