So a little about me. I知 the owner of a 1988 Comanche Chief. I致e had a couple Cherokees in the past and I知 very familiar with the Renix system. The reason I came to this forum is I知 in search of a particular Cherokee to restore and put in my collection. Once I find one (hopefully with the help from you guys) there will be a build thread. In the meantime want I知 looking for will be hard to find but I know they do exist and maybe someone here owns one or knows where ine is. What I seek is a 1987 or 1988 Cherokee Chief 2 Door 4X4 with a 5 speed and 4.0. I知 not worried where in the country it is, or the condition as long as not completely rotted out.

 

Welcome to the forum and good luck finding it. As you know 2 door 4x4 with the 4.0 liter and 5-speed is a pretty rare combination. It took me over a year to find mine. Would love to see a picture of your MJ.

 

 

And yeah and the fact that I want a Chief will make it all that harder. From what I was able to research they only made them 1987-1988 with the options I want. If someone finds a 1987-1988 XJ that might of been repainted and the decals never put back on let me know.

Wow thanks! I知 going to message him and see what the vin pulls up. It doesn稚 take much for the insurance company to total out a XJ. Also the floor pans don稚 look half bad.

 

Ok the seller is out of town at the moment when he gets back he痴 going to FaceTime the Jeep for me. If I were to buy it I知 planing on driving it straight to Florida. Fingers crossed. As long as it doesn稚 over heat and the Peugeot transmission isn稚 acting up I don稚 foresee any problems. I could also rent a uhaul and tow it but what fun is that?

I have really bad news to report. The owner of the Jeep said his wife sold the Jeep while he was on vacation. Miss communication and I guess the buyer was super happy to purchase it so it must of been a decent truck. I asked the seller to pass my info onto the new owner and if for any reason he ever wants to sell it for him to call me. These trucks are to rare to end up scrapped. I致e been following leads of last knows ones and they all ended up getting crushed.

 

Dang that sucks. The unicorn search continues, hope you can find one soon.
