Default First Jeep, need some pointers!!

Hello All!!

Currently looking into getting a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and I got an eye on this jeep. https://nanaimo.craigslist.ca/cto/5647372068.html

I am very much ready to offer the money to the guy and start working on it. My last thing I need to do is the visual inspection and I feel safe to give money if I dont see anything wrong. What should I look at? This is the first time im looking at a Jeep and I dont know what to look into.

Any pointers would be much appreciated and I hope that one day, I can return the favour to everyone else.

That's a nice looking jeep. Kind of high miles, but not bad for the price. I'd pay that.

99 is the best year btw.

Pull the dipsticks. Look and smell the fluids. Open the oil cap and look for anything brown or milky. Look in the coolant overflow.
Also look underneath for excessive oil leaking, and look around for overspray, which would be an indication of a prior accident.
If it all checks out buy that thing.

I forgot to also mention, how would I go about finding new tires for this jeep? I know that this jeep is the 1999, i-6, 4 door, and the sport package...

I was also wondering what I should look/listen for anything when I ask for a quick drive around.

I would also take it up the highway speeds at least to 70 mph. Make sure to hit some bumps while you're driving also. Feel for any crazy shaking otherwise known as death wobble.

I am now the proud owner of a 1999 jeep cherokee sport!!!!IOIUHIUH!U@H3

So with all the things that I looked at with the jeep, everything seems to be in perfect condition. Previous owners NEVER used 4WD and the engine+tranny was replaced 100k km ago.

I am going to be taking it to a shop to get a full look around and make sure there is nothing that I could see. Where should I ask them to look? I was thinking mainly the body and steering since the mechanical side of this jeep seems to be perfect.

Alos wondering if there are any cheap ways to upgrade the jeep? Like new sensors, new filters, etc etc..
