Default Chevy To Jeep Conversion

Hello everyone, joining from Ontario, Canada and am glad to be part of the Forum (have been looking around for alittle while now till I got my Jeep).

Not new to lifted 4x4's, just new to Jeeps. After much talking with friends and looking online, I decided it would be practical to switch from my 1987 Chevy Suburban 3/4Ton to something more driver friendly, being a 1998 Cherokee Sport.

Previous owner installed a 4inch lift (although will need to lift rear a bit to level it out), 33's that need replacing, and removed the flares (will need to trim still). Jeep has 357,000KM, but after looking here it seems that isn't as high as I would of thought (which is why I bought it).

Anyways, I hope to be around awhile and get to know some of you fellow Cherokee'rs!

Both very nice looking vehicles.

Makes me miss my old chevy.

Welcome from Wisconsin. From really, really bad gas mileage, to just bad gas mileage.

Thanks for the Welcome! I've already got a small list of things I want to do to the Jeep by Spring/Summer from this site.

Where in Ontario are you located? I am in Peterborough, and know of a few lifted Cherokees around here.

Default Best Chevy to Jeep Conversion.

Welcome, I'm a newbie too, your chevy to jeep statement cought my eye. The best conversion in my opinion is a small block Chevy V-8 stroker engine and transmission in a Cherokee, it R-U-L-E-S. It was cheaper to convert mine to a V-8 conversion with Blazer transmission and transfer c ase than it would have been to rebuild all the worn out 4 cyl. drivetrain. Chevokeeman.
