Still looking. My buddy is selling his nearly flawless 1992 Dodge Stealth R/T with 60K on it that I may pick up instead. We'll see. I also test drove a couple of Lexus SC400s. So I am debating between practical sporty car, luxury car, and 4x4 Cherokee for my daily driver. Decisions, decisions... I still have yet to drive a XJ Cherokee though.

i have 2001 limited im surprise the red one you posted have cloth seats. as far as i know all the 2001 limited came with leather seated seats. if you going to be doing some wheeling or lift kit with big tires i would look for one that came with 29 spline c8.25 axle. mine came with dana 35. i end up swapping to c8.25, 4.5" lift, 33" mt, and 4.56 gear i feel much better now after the swap.

How much do like driving in the Chicago winters. The last few years, you guys got it worse than we did in Wis. Which is mostly what I use my XJ for. (bad snowy weather, camping, haunting, ice and regular fishing, dog hauler, etc.) The rest of the time, I have a 4 banger beater for my DD work vehical. (Due to XJ poor MPG's) I'm not trying to be rude, but you might want to rethink. What you want and need. If it was me, I would look for a good older used XJ, And a good used (a little newer) Honda Civic or something else. That good on gas. JMO!

I hate Hondas, no offense. I don't care about gas mileage given my current garage occupants (2011 Cherokee with Hemi, 2010 SRT-8 Challenger). I know the Jeep does pretty poor, the Lexus slightly better, and the Stealth better still, but the latter two require premium fuel, so that offsets some of it. I have found a black 2 owner 2000 Classic with about 148K for 4K that is SUPER clean and was garage kept its whole life. I am leaning towards that at the moment. I think I could get it for 3700 or so, which I think would be good. The Lexus I was looking at is a 1993 with about 160K for 4K, and the Stealth is a 92 has 65K for 5K.

The Lexus SC400 is a luxo/sports car. Very nice. I was thinking about getting at one time. If you decide not to get the Stealth, could you send me the contact info? My son is looking for one or a Mitsu equiv.

I am passing on the Stealth only because it is a five speed, and I need an auto. I is not actually for sale yet anyway. I am still looking. Looked at three SC400s within the last few weeks and passed on every one of them for different reasons. I still have yet to find a Cherokee to my liking. I also like the Blazer Xtremes, but they are only 2wd unfortunately.
