Default 4 Wheel Drive and Jeep Noob

Ive already posted a few times but I figured I would go ahead and Introduce myself. I have never owned a Jeep or a 4X4 Vehicle. This is my first one. I traded my Camaro for a 92 Jeep Cherokee Laredo because I am getting ready to change duty stations from Fort Riley, Kansas to Fort Wainwright, Alaska. I have been in the Army as an Aircraft Avionic Tech for 12 years. I just got back from Iraq in November of 2008. The Jeep is a 92 Cherokee Laredo with a 4.5 inch lift. I am just starting to learn about suspension and lift kits. Its got 33 inch Super Swampers, Dana 30, 3.55 gears in the front and a Dana 35, 3.55 gears in the rear. Right now I am doing alot of tuning up, gaskets and such because the guy that owned it before me would go mudding and didnt take very good care of it. Its still in good shape, just needs some love. This weekend I am replacing broken Ring, Pinion and left side gear in the rear end. I am having fun learning about this vehicle and doing all the stuff I am doing to it. Anyway, I have rambled enough. Glad to be part of the group.

Thank you for the welcomes. Hey COSXJ, you originally from Colorado Springs? I was born and raised in Denver. Nice to see more people from Colorado!

Welcome to CF, Are you going to the Kiowa unit up there. If you are it should be a sweet deal cause they replaced us in Mosul in July 08, so you should have alot of time before your next deployment.

No, I dont work on the Kiowas. For my job the Armament guys do that. I pretty much just work on Hawks. So whatever Hawk unit they have up there I will probably be going to. From what I understand they deploy in small packages so hopefully I wont have to go again for a while. Im getting ready to go to the UH-60M transition course in a month so I am pretty sure that where ever I go after Alaska will be a unit with UH-60M.

BTW thanks for all the welcomes.
