1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport
Hi All!
This Jeep Cherokee XJ is my daily driver, and is in great condition. It is 100% stock with the 4.0L engine, 5-speed transmission, and Chrysler 8.25 rear axle. I have maintained it well, and many new parts have been installed within the past couple years including:
- Oil pan, gasket, oil pump, oil pressure sender, oil filter adaptor o-rings
- Timing chain, sprockets, harmonic balancer
- Front and rear crankshaft seals
- ALL suspension components are new
- Radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, serpentine belt
- Brake rotors, calipers, pads, drums, drum hardware, master cylinder
- U-joints in drive shafts and axle shafts
- Wheel hubs, ball joints, steering knuckles
- Suspension bushings, motor mounts, transmission mount
- Valve cover gasket
- O2 sensors
- Distributor, spark plugs + wires
- I replaced brake fluid, transmission fluid, and transfer case fluid about a year and a half ago
- Oil changes every 3,000 miles, coolant changed last month
Wheels and tires are essentially new, and have only been driven about 10,000 miles. There is also a full size spare with matching wheel.
Extra info:
- I have had the oil analyzed twice by Blackstone Labs. They have not found any problems with engine wear and tear. I would be happy to show you the results.
- Oil pressure is good (~50 on average), cylinder compression is within factory spec, no exhaust gases in the cooling system.
- There are no carpets, but there is also no rust on the floor pans (as you can see). When I bought it, the driver floor pan was a bit rusted out, so I bought a new floor panel and had a pro welder weld it in. I seam-sealed the welds and coated the panel with rust inhibiting paint. Water does leak a bit onto the driver floor pan, and I have not been able to find the cause yet.
- The body is pretty much rust free, with the exception of two small rust spots underneath the roof sills (1 on driver side, 1 on passenger side). The exhaust system is a bit rusty but perfectly functional.
- The rear main seal area and front pinion seep a little oil, but not enough to be concerned about.
- I will include the Chrysler Factory Service Manual in the sale ($100 value).
- The roof basket will be included with the sale.
Mileage: 196,000
Price: $5,000 OBO
Location: Del Norte, CO
FYI: This picture is about a year and a half old, the engine bay is a bit dustier now.
