My passenger side tie rod bushing is shot and I will do the ZJ tie rod upgrade at the same time. I bashed it on some rocks in Death Valley.
Amazon has Omix-Ada18058.10 which they label as a drag link but illustrate a tie rod. Is this really the right part?
Price seems good.
Thanks

XJ and ZJ draglinks (the one from the pitman arm to the passenger knuckle) are the same. The V8 ZJ tie-rod (from knuckle to knuckle) is what you want. I've twice now gotten Moog-branded parts from my local NAPA.

Moog MOG-DS1238 Draglink QTY 1
Moog MOG-DS1312 Tie rod QTY 1
Moog MOG-ES2079S Tie rod sleeve QTY 2
Moog MOG-ES3096L Tie rod end QTY 2
I bought all of my parts off of Summitracing.com, they give you free shipping on orders over 100.00. Also their customer service is second to none.

I have read from many sources that the ZJ drag link is NOT the same as the XJ draglink. V8 or not...it will likely not work well on an XJ. It is also not any beefier.

For a safe wallet, stick the to ZJ tie-rod only. I can't answer your OMIX part number questions.

I changed to all ZJ v8 parts when I did mine, and though the drag link looks the same, there seem to be very minute differences in it. Either way, I needed to replace mine so it was really a no brainer to just replace it all.
Side note to the ones that may be wondering, Yes! All of the ZJ parts work as direct replacement as far as the steering linkage is concerned.

I've done the swap and got the parts from ebay...thought I could save some coin. A couple years later, very few miles driven, and the rubber boots have gone and just broke apart. The steering squeaks, and I'll be replacing with MOOG.
I'm locked front and rear and on 33s, the v8 ZJ stuff does great. I bent my stock xj one.

I went ahead and ordered the Moog parts from Amazon. Shipping was a little slow but it worked out. The ZJ tie rod is surprising heavy about three times the weight of the stock part.
The installation went much better than expected. I expected to have to beat on the old one to get it out. Two taps with a pickle fork and it fell out. The most time consuming part was really stupid. The cotter pin for the outer tie rod end had been inserted from the outside. I had not removed the tire so access was bad. It took more time and a few bad words to get it out.
Thanks to those of you who posted the Moog part numbers.
