if the fixed tre on the draglink is shot, you need to get another draglink bar. same for the tierod bar. and i think i seen they are the same for cherokee six bangers and grand v8's. just the tre's are different. moog stuff that is.

Uhhhh no, they are very much different. That's the entire point of this thread.

Yes, per liljoe71's summary:

Qty.1 #DS1312 Tie Rod (aka the rod w/TRE
Qty.1 #DS1238 Drag Link
Qty.2 #ES3096L Short Tie Rod Ends(1 by pitman, 1 by outer driver side)
Qty.2 #ES2079S Adjustment Sleeves
The only thing I'm unsure about is the DS1238 drag link, as everyone seems to say that every XJ and ZJ uses the DS1238, but every dealer and Moog themselves specify the correct part for the 1984-1990 XJ as the DS1046.

They're compatible. Moog actually has a different P/N for all of the XJs. See my posts a page or two back.

Yeah the XJ tie rod is two tiny-*** TREs with a giant adjusting sleeve between them. The ZJ uses the same TRE at the pitman arm and DS steering knuckle.

Great upgrade. Is it the same parts for a 1999 XJ?
Thanks

MOOG is better, but not for the price difference. Plus, the Autozone/Duralast parts are lifetime guarantee, MOOG are not.

I rebuilt my 90 Front end with Duralast/Autozone parts and it has been fine with no problems.

The V8 ZJ Tie Rod is an awesome upgrade, it is solid and larger in diameter compared to the XJ's hollow tube Tie Rod. The XJ drag link is solid cast steel so no need to upgrade just get a new one, and it (ZJ Drag Link) is not compatible with the XJ anyway.

And the drag-link from a RHD right hand drive XJ can be used for OTK over the knuckle steering.
