Default yoke

i broke a piece of the yoke that holds the caps for the u-joints and i was wondering if theres and easy way to take the yoke off, i know theres that big nut on it but its not budging and its just making the tires spin. any help

Put it in park and engage the e brake tight. Mark the relation of the yoke to the shaft and nut. Use a breaker bar if you have to. There is a torque spec. I guess mine was easy cause I don't need to jack it up :-D

well its in gear casue its a 5speed, but anyways the ebrake is on and the tires spin just the slightest amount, were talking about the right nut right? its behind the ds where the ujoints go in the yoke

not sure if thats what its called, its large and sits behind where the u-joints connect the ds to the yoke

I have heard of guys using the power of the jeep before, as in use a breaker bar braced against the floor and move the jeep under its own power to break it lose

never thought of this, it seems alot easier, i cant even the the sob to break loose

Just be positive your moving the right way, you don't want to tighten it. Put it in gear and go slow also a good soke in pb several times will help

It's Torqued tight. Try a breaker bar and hit it hard with a hammer to shock it loose.

Yes, I have not used it and it wouldn't be the first thing I would try but it will be the way to impart the most force into it when other solutions fail. If you wanted you could use some other way of pulling it instead of using the vehicle that is being worked on
