Yet Another Brake Question?
Apologize for not being able to find this, but given the variables, I am not certain if I found the correct answers or not. I did try.
91' XJ Sport, Chrysler 8.25, non-ABS. Drums to disc conversion.
I have found videos on the procedures, but not for the 8.25 and non-ABS.
And various instructions (or maybe opinions) are available on the proportioning valve.
For the 8.25, non-ABS, still pull the disks from a ZJ? Do the rotors have to come off another 8.25? Or will rotors off of a Dana 35 work too?
How should the proportioning valve be managed? How does ABS vs non-ABS fit into the equation?
And can the emergency brake be hooked up? Or is it lost. In a video by gui577b, the guy is hooking up the e-brake with some finagling. But in another video, the person states the e-brake cannot be hooked up?!?

I did the rear disc upgrade on my '99 about a year and a half ago. It has the 8.25 rear axle and no ABS. I documented the job in a series of posts in the "What did you do to your XJ today" thread, starting here:

As I recall it's all Grand Cherokee ZJ parts circa 1995-1998. I used the kit sold here on the board by "Big Dave", which saved a lot of time and aggravation going after rusty (in my area) junkyard parts. The backing plates needed to have their center holes enlarged slightly with a Dremel to fit. (I've read that Liberty backing plates are an exact fit.) I swapped in the guts of the ZJ proportioning valve. Also I was able to use the original parking brake cables though it was a real pain to bend over and secure the ends.
It was a lot of work but the results were worth it and future work on the rear brakes will be much easier than the old drum setup.
