XJ Steering Options
I've been looking at steering for a couple months now, researched a good bit and had decided on the WJ steering. I even went as far as to pull the knuckles/TREs from the local pick n pull.
However I just found out that I can't use my track bar (BRAND NEW JKS that I can't return) so I have shelved the idea for the time being on principal since I just bought it.
So the question I have is what steering options are out there that don't require extensive fab work on the axle? Unfortunately a lot of write-ups don't touch on this. Hell only one WJ steering write-up I read even mentioned the trackbar/swaybar issue.
So is there anything that is worth running that gets rid of the Y and allows you to retain the trackbar and swaybar mounts?
If I could get my money back out of the track bar I'd revisit the WJ idea but I can't return it (special order from a local business I am trying to support) and I'm not going to take a loss on it.
I know most of the OTKs require relocations. What about the Teraflex?
My plan at this point is to get another front axle and start building it for the WJ setup and then swap it down the road.
I am currently running the ZJ V8 setup.

i have the tera flex set up at the moment and it works fine. but depending on lift height it can mess with the swaybar mount. but mine does not bother the tracbar at all. i have been looking at the iron rock steering setup for the wifes wrangler it looks like it does not mess with either.

Calling him is the best bet, theres 4 guys that work in his shop including him and they've been exploding in popularity up here in Canada this year. I find his suspension stuff some what pricey but completely worth it. As far as im concerned if it can survive the canadian shield it can survive anything

Have you had any issues since switching to the ZJ tierod?? I was just wondering because after Taco-ing my third OEM XJ tierod, I switched to a ZJ V-8 tierod and I haven't bent it in 2 years of hardcore wheeling and daily driving. I'd recommend just sticking with the steering and trac bar that you have. If it isn't broke don't fix it. Just my $.02.

It IS broke from an engineering standpoint. The inverted Y was a flawed design before any Jeep ever hit the ground with it.
I cannot comprehend why Jeep used it outside of them probably just trying to fit it into a tighter area.
There is NO upside to it. This isn't about making it stronger. It is about fixing the horridly flawed "Fisher-Price: My First Steering Design"

You could go with this:

FrankZ makes excellent products. Just go with the under the knuckle kit with the tapered inserts and be done with it.

You would have to drill the knuckles, and weld it, but you could do a crossover-type setup using heims top and bottom of the pass side knuckle. Similar to the WJ setup, but instead of seperate holes for the TREs it would use just one.
