so I currently have a 99 limited xj with factory power leather seats non heated. The driver seat has seen better days and I want to swap it out. I’m considering swapping the driver and passenger at the same time and from what I’ve found tj, zj, and wj seats bolt right up to the existing xj seat brackets. My question is this, I have factory power seats meaning there’s a plug there. Will any of the zj or wj seats hook right up to the existing plug? Most write ups I see of people doing the swaps are on manual seat xj’s so they have to wire everything up. But I haven’t found one from a factory power seat xj to a power seat wj or zj

The power seat is the base. Not the seat itself. If you have a plug on the seat itself that kinda sounds like heated seats to me.

So what all would I have to do to swap the seats and retain the power seat option?

On all the seats I've seen you can remove the non power base and install your power base

In this swap there would be no non power base. It would be a power wj or zj seat going into an xj that also had power seats from the factory

I don't think the base out of the wj or zj will fit the xj . so I think the seats need to be bolted to the xj base . I've never done this change but I believe there are write ups on this .

I guess I’ll just have to snag one from my local junk yard and see what happens. I believe they charge like $30 so it’s not an expensive try

Have you completed this project? I have a '98 XJ Limited with a power driver's seat and hammered leather, so I have been looking in to the same swap. I basically asked the same question and have received no responses as of yet.
