Default is a XJ front driveshaft needed for 242 SYE ?

I have the chance to obtain a used XJ front driveshaft within the next couple of days, think the guy wants $70

The reason for asking, is I may consider an SYE conversion on my 2.5" lift.

It has a vibration (that was there before the lift). I have eliminated quite a few possible causes. Rear driveshaft is the next suspect

It would cost $280 to have the OEM rear shaft balanced and new Spicer unis at the driveshaft shop..this money may be better spent on an SYE ?

NP242 TX case, any helpful info, or pointers to threads, opinions etc would be good, as I dont fully understand all the options on a 242 SYE conversion

Do I need a used front shaft ?

(prices are in A$, so higher than US)

the rear driveshaft on my '96 242 has a round flange atm ....am open to any suggestions, as I dont know

would have to say economy is my main aim, not extra strength, as I not looking to add much additional lift, or much larger than 31" tyres

the lift did not cause the vibration, and maybe the rear driveshaft isnt the cause either

I did just confirm with the seller I will need a front shaft for a SYE... I was unlucky he is wrecking a few XJ that were well set up, (missed a TX case with SYE conversion, and 2 locked front ends )

(but did pay for some other parts I wanted)
