Default sye needed for a 3inch lift on a 242?

looking at a jeep with the 242 tcase

I want to do a 3 inch lift to it, from iron rock offroad

Ive used their 3 inch lift before and it was great, but that was with the 231 t case

the jeep is a 99, adding a 3inch lift, will I have vibrations with it?

reading thru old post in this forum, Ive seen where someone said 3 inch lift or less you wont need anything, 4" or more you will need it

let me know if I can get by with a 3" lift on a 242 without any issues

I just did mine 3.5 inche lift on a 2000 xj and definitely needed it. You could really feel the slip yoke sliding in and out when I let off the gas.

Order the drilling rig. Do it slow. I just started a thread on my build ..... And how I broke the tap off inside the output shaft.

well from those 2 post, it really must be "jeep to jeep" differences

my 91 with a 3" didn't need anything

my last 99 with a 4" needed a drop to help, sold it before I could figure it out

good thing iron rock offroad just came out with a 242HD sye kit

its under grand Cherokee section, would it work on a xj with the 242?

No idea. Doesn't look like it would work on the output shaft.... But I'm new to this stuff.
