XJ with Ford 8.8 rear axle - Shock question

XJ with Ford 8.8 rear axle - Shock question

Hello. I bought a XJ that has a 6" lift and a Ford 8.8 rear axle. I need to replace the shocks so do i need a shock that will work with the ford axle or will a XJ shock for a 6" lift work?

The best thing do is take one of your shocks off and measure the extended and collapsed length, then get shocks that match.

So the bolts and points where they are bolted in on the top and on the axle are pretty much the same? Thank you for responding.
