Wondering if anyone has ever taken the main leaf from their old worn leaf pack, cut the ends off, and added it to a new leaf pack. I bought new Dorman springs for a stupid good price recently, but I've read the spring rate isn't as good as some others. This is the UpCountry replacement pack, so about 0.75" over stock height. I was debating taking my old main leafs and adding them to the new ones like an AAL.
Thoughts on this? Not so much looking for added height as I am just a bit more spring rate / support and strength for the pack. I wasn't sure if adding an old main would have the opposite effect though. Appreciate feedback!

Doesn't matter where the leafs come from you're making a bastard pack. All bastard packs are trial and error, see what you get. You can be sure though that you will get more lift and more spring rate.
