I got my 8.8 installed and now need to do something about the rear shocks. I have the 4.5 RC spring pack lift in the rear, and am going to need shorter shocks than what came with the lift. I mounted the lower shock mounts to to center of the axle tubes, so I don't have that big shock mount drop that the stock axle had. Anyone know how to measure for shocks, or what shocks may work if they have done this?

You need to add 1" so the spring won't pull the pistons off the ends of the rod. After that you need to adjust your bumpstops so you won't ruin the shock on full stuff.

In case anyone finds this in a search wanting to know the answer. The stock length rear shock works great with the 8.8 with shock mounts welded directly to the axle tubes and a 4.5 inch lift. Thanks for your help guys.
