The driver's side will work, but the passenger side is too short.

Just did an 8.8 explorer axle swap used the explorer cables cut them down.
Works like a champ. P.S. I dug around the inter web and found this do not remember where but it helped me get my ebrake issue figured out. the pics are of my completed swap. Hope this gives some help.

if I buy the cable 95969 will it work perfect with the grand cherokee driver side.. I purchased the liberty passenger cable and it was shorter at the equalizer bracket.. I bought the cable at the dealer since I work there

I used two passenger side e-brake cables from a 1991+ TJ.
Passenger side Part#52007522
Fit great on my 96 lifted XJ.
The 96 cables run from center of jeep to axle. 97+ is off to one side.

The ZJ passenger cable worked fine for my driver's side, but I got Napa #95064 for the passenger side. Works perfect. It's a little bit longer but now that I'm lifted, it's perfect.

Op, when you were using the ones from mfg did you try switching the cables from driver to passenger? One should be longer than the other. Also, my stock xj's cables arent even the same length, the tensioner is slanted.
