Arrow ||x|| BBk throttle body 62mm for XJ ??? ||x||

I'm thinking of buying the BBk tb 62 mm for my 2001 XJ
The stock throttle body is now in my car

I have now on my car :

- K&N air intake system
- air aid throttle spacer
- aFe short headers
- borla exhaust

All this but I didn't change the stock throttle

I can really feel now the difference to the car preformence when I installed these above

The question now

- will I get even a better preformence if I change to the 62mm BBk throttle body????

Get it. You can ditch the spacer though. You'll feel the difference especially passing power on the highway.

^This^

And make sure that K&N is actually pulling cold air if you want any benefit from it. Most people just put in a cone filter that pulls hot air from the engine bay

So no need of the spacer if I install the BBk tb?

Thanks for the post

No need for a spacer at all on a MPFI motor

I'm not pretty sure what you mean by pulling cold air
Cause I'm not sure that the weather in Oman and UAE has cold air

I got the full K&N air intake system for my car if that's what you mean

Throttle body spacers used to help on some carbureted and TBI (Throttle Body Injection) engines, but they don't make a difference with modern fuel injection

Here is the results of the original JP magazine CAI testing-

INTAKE SHOOTOUT -JP Magazine April 2008
rwhp / rwtq '01 TJ 4.0L 5 speed manual 138k 4.56 Truetrac 35" Gibson cat back
142.3/188.0 Stock Intake and housing new paper element
150.1/192.3 Open Intake/TB

146.9/191.6 Rustys K+N cotton gauze $73 No heat shield, 'HAI' Hot Air Intake
151.7/197.9 Pacesetter F/X cotton gauze $180 No heat shield, 'HAI' Hot AIr Intake
152.3/197.3 Rock It Parts cotton gauze $119 No heat shield, HAI' Hot Air Intake

152.4/197.3 Injen cotton gauze $360 Heat Shield, step tube
152.7/197.2 Banks cotton gauze $443 Heat Shield/Enclosure
153.0/199.3 AFE Magnum cotton gauze $311 Heat shield
153.8/198.5 K+N FIPK cotton gauze $385 Heat shield, CARB sticker

154.0/200.9 Airaid cotton gauze $399 Heat shield, TAPERED TUBE 5" to 2.5"
155.1/198.4 AEM Brute synthetic dry $362 Heat shield, TB spacer included CARB sticker
155.6.199.8 Mopar cotton gauze $359 Heat shield, steel tube, TB spacer included

Conclusion-
-stock paper element and box housing sucks
-Open element on tube, NO heat shield, shows slight gain vs. stock, 'Hot Air Intake'
-added Heat shield, better, adds +1-2 rwhp
-TB spacer, on both top performers, adds +2-3 rwhp
-I Wish they tested stock intake and box housing with No element, K+N panel element, + cowl duct CAI tube mod
-I Wish they tested with 62mm TB
