I am looking into replacement axles for my 95. Living in Michigan I want something that will hold up to winter weather. I was thinking about putting a WJ axle up front since they have CV joints will it fit? Can I swap the entire axle or can I just take the axle shafts? I have seen that the WJ has beefed up knuckles. I was thinking about junk yarding the axle steering linkage and springs.
The WJ axle are wider, so you ll have to redo the the bracketry.
Axle shafts are longer because the axle is wider, so no they won't fit on xj 30

And its a different bolt pattern and low pinion if i remember right.
so there is no way to put them in since they are low pinion or would I have to install the tranfer out of one as well. I think I will just hold off on axle work fot the rest of the summer and just do interior and frond clip off of my 98 XJ parts jeep
CV joints have a bigger range of motion and slightly less rotional loss. also they hold up better to the snow and salt they put down. I just came over from the tuning community and I am used to working with them as well.
