Question Wireless OBDII ELM327 Anyone tried it?

Has anybody tried this?
What app did you use/try, what would you suggest? How much?
How well does it work for monitoring engines vitals?
What vitals can you monitor on 98 cherokee thru OBDII port?

I have one on order ($14 with shipping).
Im willing to spend a little for the APP but not $50 like some are.

I've got one. I think it's a different brand. Paid $23 shipped from amazone I think it's a BAFX or something.

You can monitor anything the PCM recieves. I've been using it with TorqueFree. It's great, I'll probably buy the TorquePro for $5. It'd be more than I ever need.

Im guessing you are not using Apple product since I can't find the app. Grrr... I read only good reviews about it. Damn Wireless discrimination.

I’ve used it on a few different vehicles with my android phone and it works well. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to connect to my phone and it doesn’t read boost correctly on my 135i. Other then that I’m happy with it.

Problem with iPhone is the apps. I looked at this a few months ago and decided I wasn't going to pay $40 for an app with half the features that Android users get for free.

Apparently if you don't mind that, the wifi model works fine. Obviously you can't use wifi at the same time... another iFail (no idea what's wrong with Bluetooth)

I use Torque pro, but I have a 07 Ford 6.0 diesel. It works great. But you cant monitor it with a "program" installed on my app. I found that out the hard way. Bought a cheapy adapter like the one you listed on Ebay, and wouldnt work. Returned it and got a nice PLX one that everyone said works great and still wouldnt connect. Good thing about a name brand is the tech support.

After calling PLX they explained that if I have a program then it throws off the reader from seeing what it need to to initially connect. 5 min after my issue I called and in 10 min had the answer. The cheapo one = no support at all.

Wait... what all can you do with this... How does this work... What are the REAL benefits? Also how is installation is it easy and quick. Do you just install a free app from android and plug into that thing through a usb connection? Also where can I get one... ?

Slow down. Lol

You need a OBDII Bluetooth adapter. Search eBay, Amazon, ect.
Benefits inclide seeing data the PCM sees, and reading CEL codes, clearing them and other things.

Karl, on iPhone, I use Engine Link https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/engi...591557194?mt=8

Works with the wifi readers pretty well, and is only $6, not $50 like some of the other apps. It's pretty decent, depending on what you want to get out of the OBDII. I'm on a jailbroken phone so I use a bluetooth one instead, but same difference for the most part.

Thanks. I haven't received my wireless reader yet. I will be sure to try it. $6 is pretty decent
