Default Winch solonoid mounting location ?

Getting ready to bolt my
New smitty to bumper. What is y'all's preference, over the rope or over the motor ? Either way doesn't look like I will have room for my light bar to bottom mount to light tabs again. Also I got some die electric to protect the cables , do I just need to add it on the motor mount sides or under the cover too as pictured ? Thanks

I would rather have mine mounted in the center over the drum but that's just my preference. I think they look better that way. Im confused what electric die is.. So I can't really answer your second question.

I am not really happy with these smitty mounts for either location now that I tried both. Either one seem to leave it loose and flopping around , but more so the over motor . And the die electric is grease to protect from water as we have a lot of it down here in Florida . lol

In that case I'd put it on everything. Why not? It won't hurt anything, just prevent water damage!

I mounted mine under the hood. More protection for the box and less of your radiator gets blocked. Win win situation

I know a guy here that had his wires extended and mounted his in his D/S fender, right next to the running lamp/parking light on the fender of his 2001. Looks badazz and it's out of the water....
