Hey guys, Just wanted to get opinions on what I should or need to do next with my XJ. I have a 4" lift already, steering stabilizer pretty old so gonna replace that soon. Brand new 16x8 Mamba 5 stars with 285/75R16 nitto trail grapplers on them. Have a TC drop kit and a SYE. Magnaflow exhaust and K&N intake and new rear heavy duty springs. I was looking into a long arm kit cause the front tires rub alittle on certain turns. Also possibly new gears ? It seems that my Jeep is very underpowered and always drops gears on the highway going up the slightest incline, which does wonders for whatever fuel mileage it has ! Any ideas ?

TC drop and SYE, ditch the TC drop, seeing as you have aa SYE you dont need both especially at 4" of lift, that will gain you at least an inch or two of belly clearance.
285/75R16 = 32.8x11.2/16
you have an automatic so your gearing should be 3.55s unless its been changed, id recommend 4.10s at the very least, if you plan to go bigger in the tire department go 4.56 or 4.88. this will help with the gutless gas gussling situation your in and help correct things to a closer to stock feel for the transmission that way it wont be jumping around when on hills.
at 4" you shouldnt need long arms but doesnt mean you cant go that route but chances are you will still get tire rub at full turn, its more likely your rims dont have enough backspacing.
as for what route you go, i cant tell ya where to go there, its your jeep and your budget, figure out what kinda of wheeling your into and build accordingly

should have checked first. his xj is a 2000 so rear should be ok
so my final vote is go with the gears
where are you rubbing? cut those fenders or get some back spacing

Awesome response guys. So gearing im assuming is next up to 4.10 or 4.56 just to be safe. I did cut my fenders and rolled the 1/4 panel but when I installed the rock rails that I was re-painting, the tires hit those. Ill get pictures up later today and show you. I thought the long arm kit would move the front tire away from the rear wheel well area. Also, I dont go hardcore wheelin, occasionally test her out in moderate conditions, but i want to build my jeep for durablility and moderate capability. She still is my daily driver too
