Default What else i need for this lift?

I tried posting in Lift section thread but no straight answers
Soo, I'll try again.

Pertinent Info:
I currently have 2" BB front and back on my Jeep.
~2" Coil Spacers
~2" Shackles
~I have YJ Brake Lines - 4-6" longer than stock brake lines.
~I Already Have 31x10.5 tires, that I want to put on After the lift.

Why I want to do it:
~I have a chance to get some "new" to me coils from a V8 ZJ (2004 less than 50,000 miles on it) - Those will gain me 1" - 1.5"
~Ive got 2 sets(4 total) of "new" to me leafs for the back
~44" add a leaf for each side. the AAL boasts 1" of gain.
~drop pitman (meant 3"-5" of lift)

What I Want To Do:
I Want to Bastard Pack my Leafs and add AAL til I get about 3" - 3.5"
Add the new Coils + the Spacers = 3" - 3.5"

Question:
Besides brake lines & alignment, what else will I / should I need to do to make sure everything is right?

yeah that would work great... you will need to address driveline issues... a t case drop should work since you have an older Cherokee...

you should ALSO consider a shackle relocation setup... I would imaging that your shackle angle is going to be pretty wacked

as for the alignment you can do it yourself and save some green... all you need is 10 mins, a couple wrenches, maybe a pipes wrench and a a tape measure... many, many, many writeups on doing this

Forget the AAL leaf. You don't need to or want to combine a AAL with a Bastard Pack. Just get a set of S-10 or dakota leafs. You will be able to a lift from about 2.5" to almost 6" if you use the 2" shackle. I would add an adjustable trackbar, control arms, swaybar disconnects and a SYE/DS.

Never thought about that... Hard to do a shackle relocation kit?

This great Jeep Guy once showed me, and now i just cant see spending 150-200 to get my tires "aligned" when I can do it 10 mins...

I already have 2 stock xj leaf packs. Im not planning on going out and getting more stuff. Plus, Im also going for some type of weight distribution load help.

I use this as a "work" vehicle and I travel with several hundred lbs in the rear on a daily basis. The pair of AAL will help with adding like 500-700 lbs of load carry. When you add the extra leafs from the bastard and I should be good...

I thought about the SYE - whats a DS?

if your DS is too short it cant wait. too shot of a DS means no DS. it all depends on how much total lift your netting. im sittin 4.5" and my DS is fine, dropped my t-case 1" and have no vibrations

Well, I guess I will have to address the DS issue then wont I?

But if Im at 2 now and am only going up to 3.5 and eventually want the 4.5 and you say your at 4.5 on stock ds then I should be fine, for now...
BUT, if I do need to look at a "new" one, any good upgrades I can find on the cheap? i.e. JY or CL or should I spend the coin and get something from a vendor? Any suggestions on vendors and type?

Nah it goes where your shackle does so if you pull the shackle just throw the relo bracket in. If you have a gas tank skid plate and/or trailer hitch make sure you have 1-2 friends available to help out.

I just did mine and I can't say enough positive about how much better it rides with a correct shackle angle. It is a night and day difference (was at 4" with a long shackle prior).

I used the HD Offroad relocation bracket:

http://www.hdoffroadengineering.com/...relocation-kit

EDIT: One thing to note on the relocation bracket is that it gives you some lift by itself. Here is a comparison for you:

Before - 4" of lift:
- 2.25" rear leafs
- 1" block
- 1.5" shackles

After - 5" of lift:
- 2.25" rear leafs
- 1.5" shackles
- Removed blocks
- Added Relocation brackets

That is a real grey area. Some people needed to address at 4" while others are at 6" on the stock DS. The general rule of thumb seems to be once you go over 4.5" you should plan to run an SYE of some sort.

As a point of reference I am going through my rig and in the process raising it from 4" to 5". The rear is done and I don't have any issues with my DS at the current 5". I do however have an SYE and front DS ready to go in when I pull the crossmember/TC to do the long arms up front.
