But running 31s your D35 is fine I would just lock the front and give the rear time untill your ready to go bigger the when u do a lift get a 8.25 and toss it in with new leafs and a locker. That's what I would do.

I found out that I got a 8.25 rear end lol I thought I had the dana 30 now how to find out what gears I have? Because it seems like it screams when I'm in 5th at 55 and only having 31" tires on it

Get a build sheet from Chrysler, or open the diff and look at the edge of the ring gear it should be stamped with the ratio

factory would of been 307

Thanks y'all y'all were a big help now I just got another thing I was wheeling tonight and my transfer case was grinding really bad and now it feels like it's still locked in 4th and is steering ruff and I also have like no power

It doesn't bolt in though. An 8.25 swaps right under, and a few slight mods can hold up very well. I am going to weld the spiders on mt 8.25 and run it till it blows, then swap in a 9".

lol its not exactly hard to weld on spring perches and shock mounts

nobody said that, but some people dont have acess to a welder, and some of the more expensive tools you need.

There should be a tag on your diff and the last few #'s should be your gears. Or count teeth. For the T-case check the linkage.

Would locking a 27 spline 8.25 be worthwhile? I know the D35 is 27 spline, but I don't know if the 8.25 shaft is any thicker. I know the housing is stronger
