Don't waste any money locking a 35. It gets a bad rap for a reason. Now lets hear stories about locked 35s running 44s.

If I were you I would put a newer 8.25 with limited slip in the rear and a ratcheting locker up front. I know people are going to go crazy about a ratcheting locker up front but it works. As long as you don't go around doing U turns everywhere you will be fine.

get a 8.25 at one of the pull it yourself junk yards, usually around $50-$125

Heck if you were local I would say give it a wile and I would sell u mine. Going to 60s or I would never take it out. And the limited slip is not as good as a locker but darn close for the cost.

X2 on the front lunch box locker. I ran an Aussie front and rear for 5 years in mine and loved them.

Why goto the 8.25 axle? Had one in my Dakota, factory limited slip 32" A/Ts, didn't hold up well. Dana 30 locked with 33s, just fine, not trailered.

A locked 29 spline 8.25" is the best price/performance route. My local salvage yard has 4 of them pulled and ready to take home for $160 with 100-175k miles, just add locker

I'd say go find you a hp d30 and a 29 spline 8.25 with 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10 gears.

^^^ this should be pretty easy to do if you want to do it., especially in the 3.55 ratio axles.

I've been running my 8.25 29 spline on 32's for a little while now. I had more problems with the u-joint strap that anything, but I got a yoke to cure that.
