what about air shocks
not really looking for lift, just need less sag in the rear when i pull my boat and have the xj loaded with weeken gear(coolers, tents, dog, etc)
I thought about "helper" leaf springs, but air shocks seem so much easier to install, anybody got any ideas
heres how it looks loaded for a weekend trip.
it is not my daily driver, as i have a company truck, but i do drive it on the weekends and on trips,so ride quality is somewhat of a factor when it is not loaded. My wife does drive it to work from time to time,if it snows, etc. thanks yall.

Lol, the ol xj squat! I slapped a couple of extra leafs from another xj in. It gave me about a 2" lift and doenst squat anymore, maybe use just one and see how that does...it still rides nice too.

I would look into an airbag kit in your situation. These kit mount between the frame rails and the axle... normally above the leaf spring. I also think that you are towing too much weight with your XJ.

True air shocks will cause the xj to ride rough due to the stiffness of the shocks. AN airbag style helper will not change the ride.. until you add air to them.

Get a weight transfer hitch for your trailer, to put some of the tongue weight onto the front wheels of the jeep. Just make sure your trailer hitch is class III, and well attached.
