Ok I live I'm the south. I hear a lot of redneck mod talk. I'm wondering if a "welded" 8.25 and spartan 35 is a good option for a DD? I know it sounds bad but in theory it is good.

Not worth it for a DD. Has been talked about a bunch on here. Search it on here and google.

Welding the diff on a daily driver will eat up the back tires faster then the fronts wear.

Hum.........I guess just weld it then you should be good to go. I wasted my money not knowing and bought a Detroit Lockers for mine.

I welded my D35 rear and put a Lock-Rite up front. Been driving it daily for quite a while like this. Worked fine while I was on 33's, but the D35 isn't too happy being welded on 35's now.
It does wear out the back tires faster. But for me, it's worth it. At the time I couldn't afford a locker for the rear, welding it didn't cost me a dime. I wouldn't have done it if I had c clip axles though, just because I don't want the axle walking its way out of the housing when it breaks.

to daily depends on how much drive my 8.25 was welded and my 9" has a mini spool. just chirps around come tight corners my tires wear the same amount front and rear. when it rains/ice it does make it a bit sketchy
