Just got done installing a Rebuild steering box off Rock auto (RHD), drives very well now but i have a bit of a dead spot when i turn left.
The jeep is also a bit jerky i guess when turning, or it has too sensitive steering, just had it aligned by a proper steering shop.
Just wondering what i should be looking out for as the rest of the steering has not been touched for a few years.

Give the front end a wiggle inspection - this takes 2 people. Have other person wiggle steering wheel (11 O'clock to 1 O'clock) back and forth while you are on the ground at the front of the jeep and watch each steering joint component for slop. If any of the joints have play then start by replacing those.
how old are rhe balljoints?
Years ago with one of my jeeps that sat for some time the Balljoints were locking up causing a rather stiff steering symptom - only came to the conculsion because when i set the front end on jack stands - tires off the ground and an unlocked steering wheel - i couldn't manipulate the steering from lock to lock by force outside the vehicle.

Ball joints are about 2 years old, they are Moogs, I was running some larger tires which means they might be a bit worn out. I have to get under and check the joints still but
i have just noticed the that when i turn the steering wheel when stationery I can hear a hissing sound at the actual steering wheel, is that normal I have never heard that before and have no clue how you would be able to hear that inside the cab when no power steering lines are even near the steering wheel, maybe that has something to do with my issue?
