PLEASE HELP. I have been having intermittent issues with my jeep the past 2 years.
I have a Jeep Cherokee 2000 XJ 145,000 miles 4.0 liter 6 cyl that has been having the worst intermittent driving issues. Currently it痴 jumping rpm痴 when at 50-60 mph, occasionally stalling, rough idle, rough drive, and overheating. It痴 currently at a shop and apparently the O2 sensor is not registering on the computer.
There are misfires on 2 and 5 (apparently 200+ on 5 and 15-17 on 2), and apparently the codes reset after every 5 minutes.
I知 starting to lean towards a serious engine issue.
Here痴 a list of the replaced parts relating to these things:
replaced radiator
replaced thermostat and thermostat housing
replaced head gasket seal
replaced O2 bin 2 sensor
replaced fuel injectors 2 and 5
replaced fuel rail
The check engine light blinks occasionally then goes solid when stopping then goes away.
I知 absolutely losing my mind and am leaning towards opening the engine up, it痴 just that痴 an expensive job. Please help. Thanks.

The misfire counters are telling the story. Are the plugs fresh? Next a compression test. Overheating could be head gasket/ cracked cylinder head. Compression test will be a good start.

On a 2000 with a coil rail...2 and 5 run off the same coil feed input ground wire at the rail connector and are fired by the same coil . One failure takes out 2 plugs and 2 cylinders...all other possibilities are believable but require 2 separate failure modes
