Have Rough Country 3 inch lift Nitros for my xj. I am wondering if I add 1.5 inch spacers into my setup will the shocks be long enough to accommodate it?

So are you are saying you have a 3" lift on it now and running the shocks that came with the kit, or are you saying you have 3" lift shocks and want to run them on an 1 1/2" spacer lift. Sorry, just didn't get which one you meant. Also, I wouldn't recomend (nor whould most people on here) running blocks (plate under the spring). You could pick up some lift shackles for pretty cheap and or install a shackle relocation. The relocation should add about an inch to the rear and if you need a little more throw a small lift shackle on there.

when running shocks meant for a 3" lift on a vehicle that has 1 1/2" of lift your shocks will be sitting further down in their stroke while sitting still and will compress even further when you hit a bump. It doesn't mean they won't work. You need to check and make sure you aren't going to be bottoming them out though. Odds are you will be ok. As far as lifting it 1 1/2" check out quadratec there are some pretty inexpensive kits in that range that come with spacers for the front and shackles for the rear. That would be a much better way to go than the block idea and it comes as a kit, so no mixing and matching to get a good level ride.

No no. I have a 3 inch rc lift and I want to add another 1.5 with spacers. But I'm not sure if the shocks are long enough

OK, I was all confused then. Contact rc and ask them what length their shocks from the 3" lift are good for. If I remember right I believe some companys use the same length shocks to cover a couple different hights of their kits. I would think you will probably come up short though. It would work temporarily for basic street use either way. If it turns out that they are close to the correct lenght you can add bar pin eliminators. They are supposed to add a little length to your shocks. I don't know that it would make enough of a difference though. Quadratec wants $80 for them (F & R). At $80 you might be better of just running what you have till you've got the cash for new shocks.

The shocks will work w/ 2-4" of lift according to the shock chart. Did you get new leaf packs? or AAL? or shackles?

If you don't have shackles ... that'd be the way to go.

I have AAL. All I want to do is add an inch in the back with blocks. Because I keep my recovery equipment ( come along. Chains. Hi lift. Stereo subs and amp ) in the back and I want to eliminate that 1 inch of sag from all the weight
