Default Tweeter placement/installation

So I picked up some Rockford Fosgate P1652S Speakers (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1652-s) from Craigslist and was wondering first of all how much of an improvement in sound quality is it to have separate tweeters like this mounted higher up (ear level)? I'm planning on installing them in the corner triangular plastic piece near the windows. Has anyone done this before and have a write up and or any tips/suggestions? Also, do I need a crossover for these tweeters or can I simply run them to the door speakers?
Thanks!

There's wires in the door for factory infinity tweeters that go there. A green and a black wire with a connector. They are wired inline to the door speakers. Yes you may want a crossover thingy inline with the tweeter so the lows don't blow it up. Some tweeters have them built in.

Buy a good set of tweeters. Not the 16 dollar ebay specials.

The speakers should have some sort of crossover module, either built into the speaker or separate. You have to find out how to wire them first, or you will blow them. Google it. And the closer to your ear the better for the tweeters

Sorry to hijack the thread but where exactly are the factory tweeters mounted? I've been wanting to run component speakers but all the kick panel kits are too expensive.

Here's what I did. I bought these at my local o'reillys they were 10 bucks on clearance. I know really cheap not very good right wrong. They sound awesome. I mounted them to the dash cover pointed at the driver and passenger.

theres no doubt that they suck, but if you like them, thats all that matters. thats pretty much the best location for tweeters in a XJ.

not knocking you, i install super ultra high end a/v stuff for a living. i play with speakers that are over $10k a pair on the reg, so i always see and hear the flaws in low end audio stuffs.

Thanks for the replies, I found out the Fosgate 1625's have a built in crossover so I can just wire the tweeters to them. However I don't have the mounting cups. Does anyone know where I can get some flush-mount cups?

I know that, but you still need the mounting cups which go into the hole which I don't have. I'm asking if anyone knows where to find these I've looked all over online and cant seem to find anything.
