Has anyone made any tweeter flush mounts? Not sure what I'd use but its just a plastic ring and cup, seems possible.

OEM Tweeter mounts are like $20 each.

I'm going to resurrect this since I'm facing the same decision, more or less.

The instructions that came with my polk 6.5 components suggest placing tweeters in close proximity to to mids. In my 2000 that would mean putting them in the door pointed rightly at my knee and the the side of the dash. The sail panel seems a better location but I wonder if they won't be pointed in a bad direction.

If I put the in the dash where would I want to aim them? Also, are the far left and right of the dash the best locations?

I'm doing an active setup, so I should be able to adjust power if they are overpowering.

Thanks for any advice. My goal is to have good results on the first try. I don't want to regret cutting the 'wrong' panel.

I think I'll leave them loose and decide after listening to them in the different spots. I can do that before I put the door panels and dash back in, but after the seats are installed :-).
