I understand that this site and the information shared is based solely in XJ's but being as the XJ and ZJ are very similar i thought that this would be the best place to search for answers to my problem(s) because their is more information/support for the XJ because they're a lot more common. Anyhow, I have a 95 ZJ with the 4.0 in it. 5.5 inch lift with short arms and drop brackets in the front. It's a trailer/murder more than a crawler and has been my daily driver for the last two years since I rebuilt the entire suspension and reworked/patched many parts of the frame rails that were starting to rot, including where the crossmwmber holds up my trannny/tcase. My frame and the rails are solid now and have no rot issues since. So here's the tricky part. I was making a left out of a gas station that has multiple entrances and their was enough time to pull out except for one car(a saturn ion) that was turning right into the entrance i was turning left out of, or so I thought. So I went for it and next thing you know she's into me. She was apparently turning into the next entrance 20 ft down from that one. My mistake 100% I should have waited. I asked if she was ok, pulled off of her and parked my jeep in the gas station parking lot while waiting for police to come. I noticed 0 damage to my jeep other than a bent lower control arm mount on the driver side. She hit the side of my tire and the corner of my steel bumper. Her car was totaled. After talking with police I drove off and noticed a shake. Upon further inspection later that night I noticed my front axle(dana 30) was dog legging really bad towards passenger side and my rim was bent on my driver side so I pulled front axle off, realigned everything and replaced my driver side tire with the spare from my carrier. Fast forward two weeks later I noticed some bad driveline vibration. I checked my back seat and on the floor in the center of my trans tunnel my floor had been crinkled? Not sure how to describe it other than she hit me hard enough on the driver side to push up and break the seam at the end of my trans tunnel on the floor in the back. It sticks up probably about 3/4 of an inch. I checked my trans and seen that my transmission is no longer centered and is hugging the driver side of the tunnel and my rear driveshaft is way over from where it should be. I called multiple body shops and being as its a unframed they would not touch it for liability reasons. My question is, is their a way I can straighten/pull my frame back out? I thought about parking the jeep sideways like 10ft from a tree, anchoring it to said tree and having someone with a decent sized truck pull on my driver side with a strap but this sounds sketchy and I really don't want to do it unless I have no other option. I was also wondering whether I could unbolt the trans crossmember, support it with something that can hold it up and more freely from side to side and take a big strap and pull it back over to the passenger side to re center it again. One side of the crossmember where the bolts go in to the frame is slotted. So could I slot out the other side, yank it back into place and re tighten the bolts back down with no issues of it wondering back over from one side or the other again? Or would i have to weld a new plate over one of the slotted sides and drill new holes for bolts to go in so trans stays in place? I can no longer confidently drive it because my tcase linkage isn't working right now either. I have a spark 249 with good linkage on my other jeep but don't want to swap it unless I have to because I have 249 in this right now and plan on swapping in a 231 down the road but I really don't want to do it twice. I thought I blew my transmission the other day because it popped out of gear and got stuck between neutral and 4 low. It drives down the road straight and from the measurements I have taken the body can't be pushed in very much. Not enough to be concerned about its integrity anyway. Just not real sure what way to go here. Any feedback/ advice on my predicament would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.
