Thinking of putting a turbo on my XJ. Found a guy selling T3/T4 turbos for 75 but have no idea the difference in turbos or how to set it up. Any help would be great. Pros and Cons would also be great. I know I'll get more power out of my 4.7 low compression stroker but will it kill the motor?

That would be awesome. I am not sure you know but Boostwerks sells the header it's a piece of art. You might need to modify the routing though in case you use his as your turbo sits close to the radiator.

We're running a 50 trim T3T4 and it starts to spool by 1700 rpm with full boost coming on by 3000 rpms. While its a lot of fun on the track I'm not sure how well it would do at low RPMs offroad.

I remember seeing a pretty good thread about a turbo 4.0 on pirate somewhere a few years back, i bet a google search of there or searching on pirate itself will lend you a few good results.

I know Bryson over there at boostwerks he gave me a lot of Ideas and his header is a piece art.. I prob. im going to redesign my turbo build because i have a boiling fuel problem right now. starting with a whole new header design (bullet proof) SLIM357 what's your comp. ratio on your motor? I would say anything below 10lbof boost you should be good I've got 215,000 on a stock internal engine pushing 12-15lb all day long with no problems

8.8:1 meant 4.6 not 4.7 lol oops. But in any case like I said Im a bit of a newb to turbos so Im not sure what Im looking at lol. Just trying to keep building the Jeep and squeezing every last bit of power out of it that I can.

yea andrewmp6 good turbo I had a cheap ebay turbo and it lasted 200 miles and I wasn't going to risk it so I bought a turbonetics my turbo trim is way to big .82 but that fine a lot of people say good things about the cheap turbos and some of them last 100,000 + miles I just didn't have that luck.. slim357 u could run 8lb all day long and not have any problem.. was internals do u have like 258 crank? pistons?
