Turbo?
if you want a turbo, but don't even know the benefits of having one, and haven't looked at prices, you should stay FAR away from them. Turbos can be a huge pain even on a car that came stock with a turbo if you don't know what you are doing. I owned a 97 R33, and man, all the electronics and issues that could pop up... the more complicated you make something, the more your going to be working on EVERYTHING. I love my jeep because of the simplicity :-)
anyways, correctly doing a turbo is just about a science in itself, especially in a vehicle it hasn't been done on alot. you need to be VERY knowledgeable... If you dont know anything about turbos, stay away from them.

Deffinately agreed CrustyChuck.
That is why the 4.0 turbo kit I am trying to part with is a perfect option for anyone that wants to turbo their 4.0 jeep, but may not be knowledgeable enough to build one themselves.

Turbos are the way to go. I'm actually gathering intel and parts as we speak to turbo my lil yeller XJ. I myself have owned and more than 1 1000HP diesel trucks and a turbo'd LS1 camaro. My buddies have small diesel tractor turbos on their 4 & 6cyl rock crawlers and they run 49" Iroks and perform flawless. All ths talk about turbo lag and spooling the turbo is garbage. With a little math and info on what your engine flows in and out cfm wise you can find a turbo that will provide boost as soon as you crack the throttle. They happen to be called Hybrid turbos and come with all different style housings and compessor wheel degrees. As far as tuning them, my XJ is an 88 with the renix so I'm on my own as far as figuring out how to fuel it, but with some bigger injectors and 1 added in the elbow just before the throttle body I think I'll be just fine.
Thats just my .02 but why listen to me when most folks fun 3/4 tons and I'm running Unimogs lol
