think about what buddy ever hear of brake boosting?????? its based of that^^^^ and the fact that it builds boost better due to the load hahhahahah im done honestly like i said they like load and it does make it more powerful/faster..... and to the op sorry for this just didnt want u misread go to the turbo forums read as muh as you can look up theory formulas etc...
you pressing brakes = making wheels harder to spin = building more boost = more power/torque
or
putting bigger wheels + steeper gear (stock gear or lower) = more power/torque/boost
and about the dynos not neseccarily because on the dyno theirs still load and once the turbo start to work youl still see a peak in #s you ever see supras dyno #s??? ive seen a 300whp supra run the same time as a 800whp supra with the same suspension setup....... just because your rowing through gears faster doesnt mean ur actually going faster...... theirs so much and ill end it here go read enjoy

Brake boosting, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, is only to pick up the RPMs enough to get the turbo all spooled up. Still unconvinced? Get ahold of that supra and add another 6000lbs to it and go race it. After all, more load makes more power, right?

And to the OP, if you haven't already, look on youtube and try to get in touch with others who have done this. I myself would go supercharger because you don't have to spool it up, or throw a huge load on it (
) to have boost. Also because there are quite a few SC kits for the 4.0. Either way, good luck and I'll be keeping an eye out for info.

haha! fail. So If I hold the brakes my car goes faster? common sense isn't as common these days 
either way OP, its a can or worms with a big amount of $$ at the end. its going to take lots of research from you, and asking others who have done it a bunch of questions. you will need to fully understand how a turbo system work in and out if your going to try this.
P.S. don't forget, the harder it is to accelerate the Faster you will go!

It used to be the standard of how rally drivers did it before the automated system of keeping the turbo spooled up. This article explains the new system but if you read carefully in paragraph 3 they explain the previous technique.
"Others have used a technique, introduced by the German driver Walter Röhrl, known as "left foot braking" where the driver uses his left foot to brake the car while his right foot accelerates to keep the turbocharger in optimal load. Left foot braking is very hard on the brakes which are put into extreme stress but is very efficient in keeping the turbo spinning."

you seem to be flattering the idea, and there isn't anything wrong with that. don't let anybody bash you for wanting to learn, but they're are a lot of alternatives, if you got the bucks i would recommend a 350 swap, i think you would be much happier with it..

Load and weight are different this above is something else i was talking about turbo cars are different nuff said an if u plan to wheel it go sc and honestly 350 swap would be what i want in a xj due to turboing has its limits then motor work etc id just get a wrecked ws6 and use that and have both reliable with the obd2 required
