I was given an AW4 and 231 t/c out of a '92 Comanche and was wondering if the t/c would be a direct swap into my AW4/231 equipped '96 XJ. I'd be replacing the rear output shaft with a sye one.

Should be a go, just make sure you have the right spline count on the input gear. You can swap them if needed while you have it apart.

Seems the '96 XJ 231's could have 2 different input shafts. If it was a for sure match up between the two t/c's I'd install the sye in the Comanche t/c then swap it in to my XJ. I need to keep it on the road so I may end up doing an in the vehicle install.
