No. Most won't bolt up without an adapter and it's a passenger side drop so you'd need to rework your floor and swap the front axle, move your exhaust and get new drive shafts.

 

Not worth it. I wouldn't do it

NP 231.
Did it and haven't looked back. I had 242 and I hated it. I swapped it out for a 231 and it's great.

 

The 231 will bolt right up and you will have all your same 4x4 indicator lights and stuff

What could possibly make you hate the 242 and love the 231? It has all the same options just with one extra.

 

No diff inside to go out. I swapped one in my old ZJ and it was great for a year or so then the diff went out and low worked fine but 4 hi part and full time both worked when it wanted to. Most times I had only the rear wheels spinning. In the end 4 low wasn't even working. Pulled it apart and the chain was fine, diff was shot. It has a 231 in it now as far as I know, don't own it anymore.
