I think I need wider tires than these 31’s but can’t go up in size or my wife will rebel.
These just don’t look aggressive enough. Can I go wider with these 31’s.

Jeep Cherokee XJ's don't get what I call good gas mileage but I would think it would be about the same .

What width/offset on the wheels? The 12" wide tires will definitely hurt your mpgs, and overall vehicle performance. If you're only after the look, I'd suggest different wheels or wheel spacers.

A wider tire may likely need a wider wheel. How wide are your current wheels? To be honest, I think it looks pretty good in the pic you posted.

also to note... even though it may give it more of that "cool" look factor to it... the wider the tyre... the more likely you are to hydroplane at even lower speeds in less standing water. Just a thought to keep in mind if your XJ does a lot of on-road DD duties.

Not sure the exact wheel width but I’ll ck with the tire guys. Have a complete set of the exact tires and wheels that are studded and run in the ice and snow. Will the 2” width be that much different in looks?
