The larger tires look cool. But your miles per gal will decrease.

If you dont wheel to much then go with the 31's. Still bigger then stock and very capable while not suffering to much mpg. If you want 33's then your mpg will go down the tubes unless you regear your axles to 4.10 or 4.56. Then comes the question of which axle do you have and do you have plans of locking it in the future. If you got the dirty 35 then you can kiss you diff goodbye if you wheel hard with 33's. And if you lock it then well good luck getting out of the driveway. If you have the C8.25 then you should be fine just take it easy on the trails. that of course is if you do decide to lock it. In my opinion if this is a trail rig then go for 33's for the extra ground clearance and if its a weekend warrior then go with the 31's. You suffer a little bit of ground clearance but you are still very capable off road. I hope this helps.

My dad has 33s and I have 31s. My jeep holds highway speeds just fine and I can power up hills without downshifting. My dad's jeep has the HO and if it's windy he has to drive in 3rd gear. He got a tailwind once, he got 24mpg. I get that on long trips and right around 30mpg with a tailwind.
